Martin Grover
Martin’s work merges elements of musical nostalgia, procrastination, elegiac decay with every day observations and childhood recollections.
Having graduated from the Royal Academy Schools sometime last century Martin has worked consistently and exhibited extensively. His paintings and screen prints skilfully combine narratives of childhood; elegiac decay; nostalgia; old records; procrastination; wild flowers; sheds and shelters. These finely observed images often resonate with wry humour, melancholy, reflection and intrigue. Martin hand prints all his work in his studio. He favours a reduction method of screen printing and meticulously hand paints his stencils directly on to the screen.
