Father & son
Father and son together time at the seaside.
Drypoint etching printed on 18 x 18cm Somerset Satin paper 300gsm from an edition of 15.
Father and son together time at the seaside, developed from a holiday sketch. This is a drypoint, a form of etching where the image is created by scratching directly onto the plate. Since no acid is needed, the metal isn't dissolved as on an etched plate, but is thrown up on each side of the line, creating a thicker, soft line. The plate is inked and printed by hand using a press for each print in the edition.
