Heather Graham grew up in Africa and learned Batik (wax resist and dyes on fabric) in school art classes. Coming to Britain she took a degree in Printed Textile Design and worked in London as a stylist and journalist before developing home interiors products for an international retail brand.
In 2016 she took an MA in Fine Art and began to learn the workings of a print studio which renewed her interest mark making and the experimental possibilities of mixing prints, paint and collage.
Her imagery often uses the decorative elements of the colours, designs and marks of the natural world and she experiments with repurposing old plates by working more layers on top of existing ones to make new images.
She has exhibited and sold work in many open studio events around the country, at the Mall Galleries and with the Printmakers’ Council. She has been selected as a finalist in the “Inspired By” series at the V&A and is a member of Southbank Printmakers in London.
